Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to the Laz mobile application (the “App”), created by Laz (the “Service Provider”). It explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how you can have it deleted.

Information collection and use

Information may be collected when you download and use the App, such as:

  • Your device's IP address
  • The pages you visit inside the App, and the dates and times of those visits
  • How long you spend using the App
  • The operating system your device runs

The App does not collect your precise location coordinates. We do store the governorate and area you select, because we use them to decide who receives missing-person alerts in their own area.

To provide the service you may be asked for personally identifying information including, but not limited to: name, email address, address, phone number, gender, prescriptions, surgeries, medications, age, allergies, height, weight, and a caregiver's phone number.

Usage analytics: Microsoft Clarity

We partner with Microsoft Clarity to understand how you use and interact with the App, through behavioural metrics, heatmaps, and session replay (a recording of what appears on your screen and what you tap while using the App), so that we can find faults and improve the service.

We send Clarity your email address, name, and phone number so that a session can be linked to your account and we can help you when something goes wrong. This means these usage recordings are not anonymous; they are identifiable as you.

These recordings can include whatever is displayed on your screen while you use the App, including care profile details, people's names and photographs, and emergency contact phone numbers.

By using the App, you agree that we and Microsoft can collect and use this data. For more information about how Microsoft collects and protects your data, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement (opens in a new tab).

Third-party access

The App uses third-party services that are governed by their own privacy policies, including:

  • Google Play Services
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging: for delivering notifications
  • Microsoft Clarity: as described in section 4

Other than as described in section 4, we do not sell your personal data or share it for marketing purposes. Information may be disclosed:

  • As required by law or legal process
  • To protect the Service Provider's rights, your safety, or the safety of others
  • With trusted service providers acting on the Service Provider's behalf and bound by this Privacy Policy

Opt-out rights

You can stop all collection of information by uninstalling the App from your device. Data already held on our servers, including photographs and face signatures, is not removed by uninstalling; deleting it requires an account deletion request as described in section 7.

Data retention and account deletion

The Service Provider retains user-provided data for as long as you use the App, and for a reasonable time afterwards.

You have the right to request deletion of your account and all data associated with it at any time, including photographs, face signatures, and search logs. Send your request to support@lazcare.com stating the phone number or email address linked to the account, and we will process it within a reasonable period.

Children

The App is not directed at children for their own use, and we do not knowingly collect data from children directly. Care profiles may, however, describe children. In that case the data is provided by a parent or legal guardian, who is the person giving consent to the storage and processing of the photograph and face signature. If you believe a child's data has been provided without that authority, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information and provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect it. Search photographs are stored in a location that is not directly reachable from the internet.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the App means you accept this policy.
